Pharmacist’s Day – Proud To Be One!

Hello everyone Its a new post on a special day – A day where pharmacists all over the world feel proud to celebrate
You know they really deserve to solemnize, and we all should be thankful to them as we are shielded, at all times in the apprehended dogma which I tend to quote shortly as DPDR i.e Disease-Pain-Drug-Relief cycle.
At least today we should realize Everything you plan/tend to do for your better health is an outcome of such a person from the field of pharmacy in so called PERFECTED WORLD scenario
Not all the nations tend to see this field ahem..ahem My field of Pharmacy in an upholding manner. Now-a-days in INDIA the trend changed we are making the society to see what this field really meant, There is a tumult for recognition,
The Pharmacy council of India PCI headed by Dr. B. Suresh who I consider personally as a role model has brought out an awareness/ A change-A switch that was needed for the whole nation to realize the honor of being in the field of pharmacy/being a pharmacist.

What do pharmacists DO?

Pharmacists have a significant role in assessing medication management in patients, and in referring patients to physicians. These roles may include, but are not limited to:

  • clinical medication management, including reviewing and monitoring of medication regimens
  • assessment of patients with undiagnosed or diagnosed conditions, and ascertaining clinical medication management needs
  • specialized monitoring of disease states, such as dosing drugs in renal and hepatic failure
  • compounding medicines
  • providing pharmaceutical information
  • providing patients with health monitoring and advice, including advice and treatment of common ailments and disease states
  • supervising pharmacy technicians and other staff
  • oversight of dispensing medicines on prescription
  • provision of non-prescription or over-the-counter drugs
  • education and counseling for patients and other health care providers on optimal use of medicines (e.g., proper use, avoidance of overmedication)
  • referrals to other health professionals if necessary
  • pharmacokinetic evaluation
  • promoting public health by administering immunizations -wiki

we shall know some of the eminent personalities of the field
First of all pharmacists are the inventors of the famous drinks we know

  • Caleb Bradham, inventor of Pepsi-Cola which we usually tend no to live with out while watching or playing our favourite SPORT .
In India we say Ye dil maange more OH YEAH!!

Another Drink Invented by the Pharmacist

  • Hubert Humphrey, US Vice-President 1965–69

Hubert Horatio Humphrey, Jr. (May 27, 1911 – January 13, 1978) was an American politician who served as the 38th Vice President of the United States under President Lyndon B. Johnson, from 1965 to 1969.

  • David Jack, leader of research that developed major asthma drugs.
He was head of research and development at Glaxo from 1978 until 1987.

  • Friedrich Sertürner, German pharmacist discovered morphine in 1804 the best analgesic known till now.

  • Joseph Swan, inventor of the incandescent light bulb

So I guess we can conclude that pharmacists are/were there everywhere, in every corner of the globe. A day of Pharmacists is a new ray of light to trend in their development and our respect to their noble deeds to the world.
